The Utah Royals FC will head on the road in the third week of the NWSL season to take on the Washington Spirit at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., today. The Royals come into this game with a 1-0-1 record and a total of three points on the standings. Washington bounced back in the second game and won 2-1 against Bay FC. After going down 1-0 in the 11th minute, Hal Hershfelt knotted it back to even in the 23rd minute just 12 minutes later. After a scoreless rest of the half and 45 scoreless minutes in the second half, Croix Bethune netted the game-winning goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time to give Washington the three points instead of the one-point draw.

Kate Del Fava opened scoring in the 15th minute to put Utah ahead 1-0. However, North Carolina answered just 11 minutes later to knot it even again. It didn’t take long at all for Utah to go back ahead by one with a goal in the 30th minute from Ally Sentnor.
