The Twins are going for the series win, while the Mariners are trying to salvage a split series on the road as well as an overall win on their seven-game road trip. The Twins won the first game of the series on Monday with strong pitching. Simeon Woods Richardson led the way going six innings in his start as the Twins held the Mariners to a total of three hits while piling up 14 strikeouts in the 3-1 win.

Game 2 of the series saw the Mariners’ offense bounce back. Seattle scored 10 runs on 10 hits in that game, including a four-run top of the ninth inning to put the game away at a 10-6 final score.
Then on Wednesday, the Twins got back in the win column. Despite getting out-hit 10 to seven, the Twins pushed six runs across in a 6-3 win. Three of those seven hits were home runs, with shortstop Carlos Correa, center fielder Willi Castro, and designated hitter Trevor Larnach all going deep.
