On Friday night in Pac-12 action, USC (22-26, 12-11 Pac-12) visits Washington State (20-27, 8-16 Pac-12) at Bailey-Brayton Field for the first game of a three-game conference series this weekend. It’s the second to last conference series of the year for both teams before the Pac-12 tournament in two weeks. Last weekend, USC was at home against Cal. The Trojans won the first game but dropped the next two. They also lost a mid-week game to Long Beach State on Tuesday, falling 7-6 in 12 innings. USC comes into this series trying to put a late push up the conference standings. They enter the weekend in fifth place, but just three games out of second place.

Washington State was at home last weekend against No. 7 Oregon State. The Cougars won one of the three games. They also had a mid-week game this week, and lost 5-3 to Portland at home on Tuesday.
Last year, USC swept Washington State in their lone head-to-head series. However, the Trojans haven’t won a series in Pullman since 2014.
