The Ducks have lost nine games in a row to bring their record to 8-15 overall and 1-11 in Big Ten play. Indiana is sitting right in the middle of the pack with a conference record of 7-6 and an overall record of 16-8. With only seven games remaining in the regular season, both teams will look to improve their spot in the standings for a higher seeding in the tournament. The lowest four teams will begin play two full days before the top eight teams. Seeding matters and both of these teams will do their best with the remainder of the season to move up.

The Ducks have clearly struggled this season and have yet to find consistency in multiple areas of the court. The team’s most recent game resulted in a close 68-64 loss to No. 12 Purdue, who is in fifth place in the Big Ten. When the Ducks are fully on the same page, they can compete with stronger teams, but communication has been an issue. Against the Boilermakers, Oregon led 59-56 with just five minutes remaining in the game. Nate Bittle led offensively with 23 points and Takai Simpkins joined him in double figures with 14 points. Oregon shot 44.4 percent overall, but struggled from beyond the arc, finishing just 5-of-25. If the team can improve that rate on Monday, it has a real chance to keep the Hoosiers within range.

The Hoosiers bounced back from a loss against USC last week to force Wisconsin into overtime and secure a narrow 78-77 victory. The game came down to made free throws and Lamar Wilkerson couldn’t miss. He went 6-for-6 from the line, making two to force the game into overtime and an additional four to keep Wisconsin at bay until the final buzzer. Wilkerson finished the game with a team-high 25 points to help his team earn its fourth win in five games.

Oregon and Indiana have only met five times in their history and the Hoosiers hold a narrow 3-2 lead in the series, although the teams met twice last year and the Ducks took both wins. In the regular season, Oregon earned a 73-64 win at home before beating the Hoosiers 72-59 in the Big Ten tournament.
