The Chennai Super Kings look for a 2nd straight win as well as a sweep of the Mumbai Indians on Sunday

The Chennai Super Kings (2-5-0, 4 points) broke a five-match losing streak on Monday and can get their first consecutive victories of the 2025 Indian Premier League tournament on Sunday when they visit the Mumbai Indians (3-4-0, 6 points) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India. The Indians have won two straight matches while Chennai looks to complete a season sweep between the teams after winning by four wickets in the opening match for both clubs back on March 23. The Super Kings have added a pair of injury replacements this week, bringing on Ayush Mhatre for Ruturaj Gaikwad and Dewald Brevis to fill in for Gurjapneet Singh for the remainder of the campaign.

Mumbai finished off a four-wicket victory on Thursday over the visiting Sunrisers Hyderabad, taking a 166/6-162/5 decision with 11 balls to spare. Will Jacks provided a double-threat, bowling 2-14 in three overs before putting up 36 runs on 26 balls. Ryan Rickelton added to the attack with 31 on 23.

Chennai chased down a five-wicket win on Monday over the host Lucknow Super Giants, 168/5-166/7. MS Dhoni sealed the win with 26 not out on 11 balls along with Shivam Dube, who went 43 not out on 37. Rachin Ravindra helped get the Super Kings off to a hot start with 37 on 22. Ravindra Jadeja bowled 2-24 in three overs and Mattheesha Pathirana also took a pair of wickets down.

Surya Kumar Yadav powers the Indians’ attack with 265 runs, fifth-most in the IPL, and Tilak Varma has 231. Hardik Pandya is tied for third with 11 wickets and Jacks now has a 7.00 economy rate. Ravindra leads the Super Kings with 186 runs and Dube is next up with 180. Noor Ahmad has taken 12 wickets and Khaleel Ahmed 11, with Ahmad’s 7.12 economy rate tops on the team.
