The Punjab Kings look to bounce back after dropping their home opener as they host the struggling Chennai Super Kings

The Punjab Kings (2-1-0, 4 points) come off their first loss of the season as they give it another try at New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, Indiana, on Tuesday, hosting the Chennai Super Kings (1-3-0, 2 points). Punjab had won its first two matches on the road before dropping its home opener on Saturday. The Super Kings have dropped three straight decisions after an opening win and the league’s most successful franchise could be in danger of missing the playoffs for a second straight year. Chennai has five titles and five runner-up finishes in 15 IPL campaigns. By contrast, the Kings have appeared in the playoffs just twice since 2008.
