The Capitals thumped the visiting Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets, 166/3-163, on Sunday, needing only 16 overs to chase down 164. Mitchell Starc turned in a terrific 5-35 bowling performance in 3.4 overs, closing out Hyderabad’s innings. Kuldeep Yadav bowled 3-22 as well before Faf Du Plesses put up 50 runs on 27 balls and Jake Fraser-McGurk added 38 on 32 in the chase.

Chennai fell by six runs in a road loss to the Rajasthan Royals, 182-9/176/6, on Sunday, as the Super Kings’ chase fell short. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad posted 63 on 44 and Ravindra Jadeja was as 32 not out on 22 when Chennai was closed out. Noor Ahmad and Matheeshra Pathirana each bowled 2-28 in the loss.

Du Plessis paces Delhi with 79 runs in two matches while Ashutosh Sharma has 66 while batting in just one match. Starc has taken eight wickets in 7.4 overs and Yadav has a sterling 5.25 economy rate in eight overs. Gaikwad has 116 runs in three matches for the Super Kings and Rachin Ravindra is next at 106. Ahmad leads the bowlers with nine wickets and a 6.83 economy rate in 12 overs.
