The Capitals, meanwhile, finished sixth a season ago but are on target for their first playoff bid since 2021 as they enter Tuesday in fourth place. They can jump to the top of the table with a significant win or into second place if the margin is smaller.

Ayinka Rahane’s 271 runs leads the Knight Riders, followed by Angkrish Raghuvanshi with 197. Varun Chakaravarthy, Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana each have 11 wickets, with Moeen Ali posting a 6.36 economy rate.
