The Indians can also cap a season sweep of Hyderabad after beating them by four wickets at home, 166/6-162/5, on Thursday. Sunrisers have lost four of their last five on the heels of a runner-up finish in 2024. Mumbai, a five-time league champion, has missed the playoffs three of the last four years, with just a fourth-place finish in 2023 since winning its last title in 2020.

    The Indians picked up a nine-wicket win on Sunday over the visiting Chennai Super Kings, 177/1-176/5, completing their chase in just 15.4 overs. Rohit Sharma went 76 not out on 45 balls with six 6s and Surya Kumar Yadav added 68 not out on 30 with five balls over the boundary in the rout. Jasprit Bumrad turned in a solid 2-25 in four overs.

    Hyderabad comes off the loss at Mumbai on Thursday as it was chased down with 11 balls to spare. Abhishek Sharma led the batters with 40 on 28 and Heinrich Klaasen put up 37 on 28 while Pat Cummins bowled a 3-26 in four overs and Eshan Malinga took a pair of wickets.

    Yadav leads the Indians with 333 runs, fourth-most in the IPL, and N. Tilak Varma has 231. Hardik Pandya tops the bowlers with 11 wickets and Will Jacks’ 6.66 economy rate leads the team. Travis Head’s 242 runs paces the Sunrisers, with Abhishek Sharma next with 232. Harshal Patel’s nine-wicket tally leads the bowlers, with Zeeshan Ansari posting the top economy rate at 9.68.
