On Wednesday, the Royals went meekly in a 58-run loss to the Gujarat Titans, 217/6-159, losing two wickets inside the first three overs. Shimron Hetmyer did what he could with 52 runs on 32 balls and captain Sanju Samson posted 41 on 28. Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana each claimed two wickets but also combined to surrender 107 runs.

Rajat Patidar and Virat Kohli share the team lead for the Royal Challengers with 186 runs apiece while Josh Hazlewood’s eight wickets lead the club while Kumar has the best economy rate at 7.80 runs per over. Samson paces Rajasthan with 178 runs and Hetmyer has 140. Theekshana shares the club lead of six wickets taken with Wanindu Hasaranga, with Sandeep Sharma’s 9.22 economy rate the best on the squad.
