Juventus is reeling after seeing its unbeaten season come to an end just before traveling to Serie A nemesis Inter Milan.

Inter Milan is looking to keep pace at the top of the Serie A standings on Sunday when it hosts a Juventus team still reeling from its first loss of the 2024-25 campaign. The Bianconeri were stunned 1-0 at home by Stuttgart in the Champions League on Tuesday and will be hoping to respond in the best manner possible when Thiago Motta travels to very familiar territory this weekend. The Juve coach spent three years on the books at the San Siro as an Inter player but has lost five of his eight meetings against his old employers as a manager but will look to shift the tide on Sunday.

Motta will coach against Inter for the first time as Juventus boss this weekend and is looking to move the needle for his club as much as himself in this particular head-to-head.

The titan of Turin has failed to win any of its last four encounters with the Nerazzurri, though Juve’s last win over Inter did fall at the San Siro in March 2023.

Motta’s nigh-impregnable defense was breached without reply in the Champions League when Stuttgart’s El Bilal Toure delivered a 92nd-minute winner for the Germans in midweek:

The Mali international rose to the fore after Juventus defender Danilo was shown his marching orders in Turin, but the Brazilian will be back in the line-up for Sunday’s visit to Milan.

Inter, meanwhile, is chasing a sixth straight win in all competitions after Marcus Thuram delivered his second match-deciding display in the space of three games.

The Frenchman’s 93rd-minute goal gave Inter a 1-0 Champions League win over Young Boys a few weeks after his hat-trick gave the club its 3-2 win over Torino.

Only Atalanta’s Mateo Retegui (eight) has scored more Serie A goals than Thuram (seven) so far this season, but he’ll look to advance his sights on the Golden Boot with a glittering game against Juve.
