Kansas and Arizona square off on Thursday night in the final quarterfinal of the Men’s Big 12 Basketball Tournament.

The Kansas Jayhawks battle the Arizona Wildcats on Thursday night with a berth in the Big 12 semifinals on the line. The Jayhawks, who were the preseason number one team has not had the season they were hoping for. They finished the regular season 21-11 overall and were just 11-9 in the Big 12. They are normally at the top of the conference, but they fell to sixth place this season. The Jayhawks barely made it to the quarterfinals as they needed overtime to get by UCF 98-94 on Wednesday Zeke Mayo scored 24 points and Hunter Dickinson grabbed 13 rebounds to help them get the win. It was their second straight victory as they ended the regular season with an 83-76 win over Arizona at home. Dickinson scored 33 points in that win and will be looking to have another big game on Thursday. Dickinson and Mayo are the only two players averaging in double figures at 17.6 and 14.3 points per game respectively.

The Wildcats will look to slow down the duo as they try and get some revenge for the loss in their last game. They earned a bye to the quarterfinals and will be playing their first game of the tournament on Thursday.

The Wildcats have been up and down this year as they won 13 of 14 games and began the Big 12 at 11-1, but they are just 3-5 over their last eight games.

Three of those losses have come by four or fewer points, but they did lose to Iowa State by 17.

Caleb Love is the team’s top scorer at 16.4 points per game, while Jaden Bradley and KJ Lewis are also scoring in double figures at 11.9 and 10.5 points per game respectively.
