The Oklahoma Sooners look to stay hot on Thursday night when they play the Kentucky Wildcats. The Sooners come into Thursday on a three-game winning streak and fresh off an 81-75 victory over Georiga in the first round of the tournament on Wednesday. They trailed the Bulldogs by six with 8:26 left in the game, but went on a 16-0 run to take control of the game and get the win. Jeremiah Fears was great for the Sooners as he scored a game-high 29 points and he is now averaging 16.7 points per game. He is the team’s top scorer and is one of only two players averaging in double figures. Jalon Moore is scoring 16.1 points per game, while also grabbing a team-best 5.8 boards per game. They will need big games for the duo if they want to knock off the Wildcats and move on to the quarterfinals on Friday. They lost the first meeting between the two schools just two weeks ago.

Former Sooner Otega Oweh scored a career-high 28 points and hit the game-winner with six seconds left to give the Wildcats a 83-82 win in that first meeting. The Wildcats would lose their next game to No. 1 Auburn, but finished the season with two straight wins over LSU and Missouri.

The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season at 21-10 overall and 10-8 in the SEC. It was an up and down season, but still should make them a lock to make the NCAA Tournament.

The Wildcats have been extremely balanced this season as six different players are averaging in double figures. Oweh leads the way at 16.2 points per game.
