Michigan and Penn State will meet on Saturday night in the Big Ten Championship in men’s college lacrosse action.
The stage is set for the Big Ten men’s lacrosse championship on Saturday which will feature fourth-seeded Michigan and third-seeded Penn State at the Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium in Columbus. The Wolverines finished regular season play with a conference record of 2-3 and are currently 9-6 overall after beating top-seeded Johns Hopkins 10-7 in the semifinal round on Thursday. Michael Boehm led the Michigan offense with five goals and one assist to finish the game with six points while Hunter Taylor made eight saves against a strong Bluejays offense to secure the team’s third straight win in net. The Nittany Lions are on a three-game win streak after winning their semifinal game against second-seeded Maryland in a 19-9 victory to bring their overall record to 11-3 on the season.

Jack Fracyon earned the start in net for Penn State and made 10 saves before Ben Johnson came in to relieve him with four minutes remaining, making on save and conceding one goal during his time between the pipes. Matt Traynor led the attack with five goals and added one assist while TJ Malone and Mac Costin each finished the game with hat tricks.
When Michigan and Penn State met during regular season play just a few weeks ago, Penn State earned a 14-8 victory at home.
