10 weeks on from its last away win, Ligue 1 giant Marseille travels to Reims on Wednesday hoping to shift the tide.
Samba Diawara will make his home debut as caretaker Reims manager on Wednesday when the team hosts a Marseille line-up that hasn’t won a game on the road since the first week of March. Former Mali international has stepped in to coach Les Rouges et Blancs on temporary terms after the once-hallowed Will Still announced his departure from the club by mutual agreement following months of speculation over his future. Marseille boasts a game in hand over most of the teams above and can move up to sixth with a win in midweek, but that’s easier said than done for a side that’s been dreadful away from its home comforts this term.

That being said, Jean-Louis Gasset will be hopeful his side can restore some of their former glories when the pressure is on, particularly against a coach who has managed just one senior game in his career.

That being said, Reims can have its own impact on the European race further up the table by beating Marseille, which could all but end Les Olympiens’ chances of returning to the continent next term.
