It feels like these two NFC West rivals should be better than they are heading into Wild Card Weekend. The Rams limped into the playoffs when they beat the Kyler Murray-less Cardinals with their backup QB John Wolford. Before last week, the last time Wolford played was for the Arizona Hotshots of the now defunct Alliance of American Football. With Jared Goff out with a broken thumb, it is not clear who will start for the Rams this week.
As for the Seahawks, they did win their last four games to close the season but before that lost to a terrible New York Giants team and a couple weeks before that lost handedly to these Rams. If Goff shows up in this one, who knows what could happen.

Injuries are going to be the most crucial factor in this matchup. The regular season was a wash as they both one a game a piece against one another. Goff said that his thumb felt "good" and that the injury was progressing. He got surgery to repair his thumb right after their penultimate game in a loss to the Seahawks with the thinking that he would have a better shot at returning for the playoffs. That is no guarantee in this weekend. In light of that news the Rams signed last year's backup and former Jaguars starter Blake Bortles back to the team. That's how few options there are at the position right now for the Rams. It may be a toss up between a Jaguar or Hotshot. Sounds like a drag race gone wrong.
For the Seahawks they will be looking at the health of their star safety Jamal Adams who said he will unequivocally be on the field. He suffered a left shoulder injury in the fourth quarter of their finale against the San Francisco 49ers. They will need the three-time Pro Bowler too after the Seahawks had a historically terrible pass defense this year. Usually that is nothing remotely what we can associate with a Pete Carroll led defense. Even if Adams gets on the field, it is a huge question on how his range will be limited. If Goff can return, there is a real chance he could do tremendous damage through the air.
Wilson started the season as the clear front runner for MVP leading the team to their first 6-0 start in franchise history. But then they lost three of their next four where at their lowest point, Wilson turned it over four times in a 44-34 blowout. That score wasn't indicative of how handedly the Bills won that game. Wilson has largely corrected his very uncharacteristic turnovers. This offense is Super Bowl worthy and they will be the favorite no matter who the Rams start under center. It's now all up to the Seattle defense to channel their former defensive dominance and hold up their end of the bargain.
