The Jackals come off a road loss to the San Diego Legion on Sunday night but retain fourth place in Major League Rugby’s Western Conference, two points clear of the Utah Warriors for the final postseason spot in the West. RFC Los Angeles, which played in Atlanta the last three seasons, comes in with three straight losses and is winless in its last four since its lone victory over Utah on March 24. The Los Angeles side also returns from a bye last week.

Dallas took a 24-23 lead at San Diego in the 66th minutes of play before playing a man short over the final 12 minutes after receiving two yellow cards, fading down the stretch of a 30-24 loss. The Jackals did earn one point for scoring at least four tries, with Jero Gomez Vara touching down twice and setting up Tomy Malanos’ try to take the lead. Vaughen Isaacs had the other score.
RFC Los Angeles took a 34-12 thumping from the visiting New England Free Jacks on April 28, getting tries from Jack Shaw and Semi Kunabuli Kunatani in the loss.
The Jackals defeated RFC Los Angeles in its first match in its new city back on March 3, taking a 32-29 victory with Los Angeles earning a single point after scoring four tries. Dallas also earned the try bonus along with four points for the win.
