Valencia, a La Liga club side, will take on the national team of Mexico today in an international friendly at Estadio Cuauhtémoc in Puebla on Saturday night. The La Liga club Valencia is the No. 18 team in the league in Spain currently. It has a total of one win in nine games with a 1-3-5 record. With a total of six points, it is one ahead of Real Valladolid and two behind Getafe and Leganés. Just last week, the club tied with Leganés 0-0 in its first league game of the month. Last month, in September, Valencia won just one game against Girona 2-0. It lost two to Atlético and Real Sociedad, and it drew against Osasuna. Hugo Duro leads the team in scoring with just two goals this year. Only three other players on the team have one goal including Diego López, Luis Rioja, and Dani Gómez.

Mexico only has one official game this October and that’s on Tuesday, October 15th when the nation takes on the United States in an international friendly. It is coming off of two international friendlies in September that ended in a 3-0 win over New Zealand on the 7th and a 0-0 draw against Canada on the 10th.
In the 3-0 win, Orbelín Pineda scored quickly in the fifth minute sending the game into halftime at 1-0. In the second half, César Huerta and Luis Romo scored four minutes apart in the 53rd and 57th minutes. Four players are tied with one goal each in international friendlies this season. Along with the first three mentioned are Guillermo Martínez and Efrain Álvarez.
