Michigan will look to move up in the Big Ten standings with a win against Nebraska on Friday in men’s gymnastics action.

The No. 3 Nebraska Cornhuskers will welcome the No. 5 Michigan Wolverines to the Devaney Center on Friday night for a Big Ten battle as the teams look to improve their positions in the standings in the final dual meet of the season. The Cornhuskers are currently at the bottom of the Big Ten standings with a conference record of 1-2 and an overall record of 3-3. The team’s last time on the mat took place last weekend against No. 5 Nebraska and resulted in a tough 329.050-328-850 defeat on the road. The Huskers were led by Taylor Christopulos who claimed an event title on floor exercise, Chase Mondi who took the title on vault and Yanni Chronopoulos who won the pommel horse title.

The Wolverines come into Friday night’s meets with the goal being a share of the Big East regular season title with a win against the Cornhuskers. The team is currently sitting behind the leading Penn State Nittany Lions in the standings with a conference record of 2-1 and an overall record of 7-3. Penn State secured a share of the regular season title with its win over Nebraska last week. The Wolverines have won two meets in a row with the most recent being a big 328.100-322.000 win over then-No. 3 Ohio State last weekend with a season-high score. Three Wolverines won event titles with Charlie Larson winning floor, Logan McKeown earning the top spot on parallel bars and Paul Juda securing the win on high bar.

Michigan and Nebraska have met a total of eight times in their history and the Wolverines hold a 7-1 lead in the all-time series. The teams met once last season and Michigan earned a 407.700-398.850 victory in Ann Arbor.
