The teams are in first and second place in the American League Central standings, respectively, but neither side has gained any ground, with each team winning two games in the series.

Wednesday’s game had a dramatic finish in extra innings. Tied 3-3 heading into the 10th, the Twins scored three runs in the top half of the innings, but the Guardians responded with four. That was capped by a two-run walk-off home run by first baseman Josh Naylor.
With Wednesday’s win, the Guardians got back within two games of the Twins in the AL Central standings. They’re 38-34 on the season, while Minnesota is 43-35.
There will be a couple of big names on the mound for the series finale. Chris Archer will get the ball for the Twins. He’s 2-3 with a 3.14 ERA this season. Shane Bieber will start for the Guardians. He’s 3-4 with a 3.07 ERA and 88 strikeouts in 85 innings.
