21-year-old forward Jesus Ferreira leads MLS in goals this season with nine, including four in his last four games for Dallas. The Colombian-American has scored as many goals this season as he did in the two previous MLS campaigns where he scored nine goals in 46 matches.
Minnesota has had a streaky start to the 2022 season. It started off with four unbeaten games, then, it lost five of its next seven matches to put it currently in ninth place in the Western Conference.
Last season, United finished fifth in the West before being knocked out in the first round of the MLS playoffs.
Finnish midfielder Robin Lod led the team with nine goals a year ago and has a team-high five so far this season including an 87th-minute equalizer on Wednesday night against LA Galaxy. Eight of Lod’s 14 goals since the start of the 2021 season have come in the 75th-minute or later.
