The Athletics (17-24) continue their series against the Angels (24-17) today in game two of their three-game series. Despite being in last place in the AL West, the Athletics picked up a 4-2 win in game one of the series yesterday.

Jed Lowrie put Oakland up early with a solo home run in the first. The Angels tied it up in the bottom of the first with an RBI single from the bat of Anthony Rendon. Mike Trout extended the lead in the bottom of the third with an RBI double to left field.
In the top of the fifth, Seth Brown hit a two-run home run to regain the lead. Kevin Smith’s sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth brought home the final run of the game giving Oakland the win.
Oakland will look to Frankie Montas on the mound tonight. Montas is 2-4 on the season with an ERA of 3.67. The Angels will look to Michael Lorenzen to pick up the win and tie the series.
