The Athletics will look to bounce back from a tough 7-6 loss to the Rangers on Thursday afternoon which dropped them to 10-11 in Cactus League play. J.T. Ginn dropped to 1-2 on the season after pitching for 4.2 innings and giving up four earned runs and striking out five batters. Max Muncy hit his third home run of the season with a solo shot to center field in the top of the first. Henry Bolte brought in the second run with his own home run in the top of the third. Breyson Guedez, Muncy and Leo De Vries each finished the day with two hits, but the team still came up just short.

Milwaukee will have a quick turnaround after playing a late game against the Guardians on Thursday night, which resulted in a 1-0 loss to bring the Brewers to 8-11. The game was a pitching battle that saw the Brewers only connect three times and the Guardians finished with just four hits. DL Hall was credited with the loss, his first of the season, after giving up the only run in the top of the first and striking out two batters.

The Brewers and Athletics have already met once in Cactus League play and Milwaukee walked away with a dominant 10-0 victory. Friday’s game will be the last meeting between the two teams in spring training play.
