Charlie Morton will get the start for Atlanta in this opening game. He is 2-0 this season with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. He has 28 strikeouts in 30.0 innings allowing 23 hits and only two home runs with 11 walks. He pitched seven scoreless innings in his last start with six strikeouts in a 4-2 win against the Cleveland Guardians.
Los Angeles will open up the top of the first inning with Gavin Stone on the mound. The right-hander is 2-1 in his 2024 campaign with a 4.68 ERA and 18 strikeouts over 25.0 innings. He allowed just one run over a seven-inning performance against the Toronto Blue Jays on the road with just two strikeouts.
