Milwaukee’s Victor Caratini’s three-run blast off Scott Effros with two outs in the 10th inning gave the Brewers a 5-2 walkoff win over the Cubs in game one of the series on Monday. The two NL Central rivals went into the ninth inning tied at one apiece when Chicago’s Seiya Suzuki hit a two-out inside the park home run to give the Cubs the lead. However, the Brewers would send the game into extras with a bases loaded walk by Christian Yelich.

In the 10th inning, Caratini’s heroics came after the Brewers catcher struck out four times in his previous four plate appearances in Monday’s thriller in Milwaukee.

The three-game series continues when Milwaukee’s Jason Alexander faces Chicago’s Kyle Hendricks in game two.
