Southpaw Eric Lauer (6-3, 4.02 ERA) will get the start for the Brew Crew in search of his first win since beating the Reds in Cincinnati back on June 14. Lauer has a high strikeout rate, but has been susceptible to giving up the long ball this season, surrendering 16 home runs in 14 starts, including eight dingers in five starts in June.
Lefty Justin Steele (3-5, 4.39 ERA) goes for his third win in four starts when he takes the mound for the Cubs in his fourth appearance against the Brewers this season. Steele is 1-1 with a 3.46 ERA in his three starts against Milwaukee.
Brewers left fielder Christian Yelich has a 12-game hitting streak that could easily extend to thirteen should he continue his success against Steele. Yelich has hit .444 against Steele in his career, but has no home runs or RBIs.
