The Chicago White Sox look to tie up this series today against the Cleveland Guardians. The White Sox ended a five-game winning streak by the Guardians winning the second game of the doubleheader on Saturday. More importantly for Chicago, they gained some ground on Cleveland in the AL Central standings. They are one game away from getting back to .500 and they are now four games back of Minnesota Twins who are leading the division.

The Guardians won the first game of the doubleheader 7-4 when Josh Naylor hit a pinch-hit single to break a tie in the ninth. Cleveland scored three runs in the final inning of a makeup game from May 11. The White Sox were able to rally in the nightcap winning 5-4. The Guardians actually went ahead in the seventh scoring four in the inning. They were getting shut out up to that point. The White Sox rallied in the bottom of the eighth to avoid the doubleheader sweep.
The Guardians go for the series victory and they’ll start Shane Bieber to try to do so. Bieber is 4-5 but has a 3.24 ERA. The White Sox will go for the tie when they start Dylan Cease who is 9-4 with a 2.15 ERA. Will the pitching advantage give Chicago the momentum they need?
