The Tigers took it to the Guardians during the week and now look for continued success against the division rival White Sox on Thursday.
This week saw the Tigers play their best baseball of the year. They swept the red hot Guardians in four games. Now they turn their attention to another American League Central opponent in the White Sox, who they’ll visit for a four-game series that starts on Thursday.

It was Detroit’s offense that really got things going this week. The team scored 28 runs over the four games, including eight in the series finale on Wednesday.
Rookie outfielder Kody Clemens has really been locked in over the last week. He’s 4-for-13 over his last five games with two home runs, including one on Wednesday.
As for the White Sox, they’ve won five of their last six games, including a sweep of the Giants last weekend. At 39-41, they’re currently 4.5 games out of the final AL Wild Card spot.
Thursday begins the third series of the season between Detroit and Chicago. The Tigers took the first game at home on Opening Day, but Chicago has won five in a row since. These will be the first games between the two teams at Guaranteed Rate Field this year.
