After winning weekend series in Atlanta, the Red Sox return to Fenway Park to open three-game set against the slumping Angels

Having snapped a five-game losing streak by taking two of three from at Atlanta over the weekend, the Boston Red Sox begin a three-game mid-week series against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night inside historic Fenway Park with a weekend set against the rival Yankees on the horizon. The Angels had won eight games in a row in mid-May only to lose seven of their last eight outings to close out the month including losing two of three over the weekend at Cleveland. Los Angeles will send veteran southpaw Tyler Anderson (2-2, 3.39 ERA) to the mound in search of his first win in eight starts.

In his ninth season in Boston, Red Sox designated hitter Rafael Devers leads the team in RBIs, total bases and runs scored and comes into Monday with five hits in his last five games. Devers is on pace for his fifth consecutive 20-home run campaign and his fourth 100-plus RBI season in the seven years. The 28-year-old Dominican Republic native is 10 RBIs away from 700 for his career after plating 33 runs in the month of May.

The Red Sox will start second-year right-hander Richard Fitts (0-2, 2.70 ERA) in search of his first career win after making his Major League debut back in early September. Fitts, who played collegiately at Auburn, was a sixth-round selection by the New York Yankees in 2021 but was shipped to Boston as part of the deal that landed New York Alex Verdugo.

Boston went 4-3 against Los Angeles in 2024, winning two of the three games in Fenway Park and has won five of the last seven meetings at home.
