The Seattle Mariners go for the series win on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Angels. Seattle has been playing tremendously as of late, winning four of its last five games and it will be working on improving to four straight wins this afternoon. Los Angeles is trending in the opposite direction, losing four in a row and four of its last five. They struggled on offense, getting swept over the weekend by the Minnesota Twins and the trend continued in the first game of this series, dropping to the Mariners 5-3 on Tuesday.

Jorge Polanco was a huge factor in the opening win on Tuesday, hitting two homers and driving in an impressive five RBIs. Polanco hit his first homer in the third inning and was nearly all the offense Seattle would need going for three RBIs. LA didn’t get on the board until the seventh inning on a Logan O’Hoppe homer. Polanco would come right back with a two-run homer to answer quickly in the bottom of the seventh to put the game away. Bryce Miller pitched a great game, earning the win for Seattle, going for five scoreless innings only giving two hits and striking out six.
Emerson Hancock will try to replicate Miller’s outing, getting the start in Game 2 today. The righty is 1-1 and trying to cut down his 7.71 ERA. He only has three starts this season and after a rocky first outing of the season, Hancock has been pitching well lately. In his last start against the Boston Red Sox, Hancock got the win, going six innings while only giving up two runs. Tyler Anderson will go for the Angels and he is exactly what they need to get out of this slump. The lefty is 2-0 with a 2.60 ERA.
