Winners of nine of their last 13 games, the Baltimore Orioles return home to Camden Yards on Saturday afternoon for the second game of a three-game weekend series against the visiting Los Angeles Angels in search of their third series win since the end of May. The Angels, who stranded seven runners on base in Friday night’s 2-0 loss, have won three straight series including seven of their last 10 games as they turn to veteran southpaw Tyler Anderson (2-3, 3.99 ERA) who has not collected a win in his last nine outings and has had a dreadful start to June going 0-1 with an ERA of 8.00 in his first two outings this month.

In his first season in Major League Baseball, Japanese import Tomoyuki Sugano (5-4, 3.23 ERA) has been a bright spot in a beleaguered Orioles pitching staff that ranks 26th in the league with a 4.93 ERA and has allowed 622 hits, third most of any team in baseball. Sugano was a three-time Central League MVP in Japan and an eight-time NPB All-Star with the Yomiuri Giants who made his MLB debut in 2025 after signing a one-year deal with Baltimore.
Angels left fielder Taylor Ward ranks seventh in MLB with his team leading 18 home runs and is on pace to shatter his career high of 25 dingers hit in 2024. Ward, who has spent his entire eight-year career in the majors with Los Angeles, is five home runs shy of 100 and 12 RBIs away from 300 in career.
Baltimore has won four of the last five games in this series with each of the last three wins coming by two or more runs. The Orioles took two of three from the Angels in their three-game series in Los Angeles in early-May.
