The Phillies have not lost under interim manager Rob Thomson. The club fired their manager Joe Girardi after a 22-29 start to the season.
They’ve now won eight in a row including the last game Girardi was at the helm clawing their way back to .500. While they are still nine games out of first in the NL East, they have already clawed their way back in the Wild Card race only sitting 2.5 games out.

The Phillies got off to a quick start for their eighth straight win to start this series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Phillies scored six runs across the first two innings which was capped by a three-run homer from Kyle Schwarber. The DBacks made a come back cutting the lead to one run in the seventh. But Rhys Hoskins added some insurance with his second homer of the night in the bottom of the inning. This offense is clicking on all cylinders now.
The Diamondbacks will try to bounce back by starting Madison Bumgarner. While his record hasn’t been there at 2-5 he has a very solid 3.64 ERA. The Phillies will start Zack Wheeler who is 4-3 with a 3.14 ERA.
