He threw 5.1 innings, allowed one earned run on six hits with two strikeouts. Four other pitchers finished the game with 3.2 scoreless innings.

William Contreras opened up the scoring in the third inning with an RBI single that was followed by a two-run home run from Christian Yelich that scored Contreras. It wasn’t until the eighth inning that they scored again on RBIs from Rhys Hoskins and Jake Bauers. The Astros’ lone run came on an RBI fielder’s choice from Christian Walker.

Hayden Wesneski will take the mound to start for Houston in the second game of this series. The right-hander is 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA in his 2025 campaign. He has 26 total strikeouts with 28.0 innings and six home runs. He gave up two earned runs on eight hits in 5.0 innings against the Kansas City Royals. He had a season-low one strikeout in the 2-0 loss.

Milwaukee will open the game with Chad Patrick on the mound in the first inning. He is just 1-3 this season with a 2.87 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 31.1 innings this season. The right-hander threw 5.2 innings in his last start which ended in an 8-0 shutout against the Chicago White Sox. He allowed three earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
