On Wednesday afternoon, the Seattle Mariners will continue their home stand into the series finale, facing the Houston Astros in the third game of a three-game series at T-Mobile Park in Seattle, Washington. The Mariners won the series’ first game on Monday by just one run, 4-3. Gregory Santos won after pitching one scoreless inning in relief fashion. Ryan Bliss hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth for the first runs to go on the board. After going down 3-2 in the eighth, Jorge Polanco hit a two-RBI single that would prove to be the game-winner.

The Astros came back in the second game of the series yesterday, though. Ryan Gusto was credited with the win for Houston after pitching a scoreless 11th inning. The first runs didn’t come until the seventh inning when Cam Smith hit an RBI triple to go up 1-0. After giving up a run in the same inning, they went into extras. Eventually, pinch hitter Victor Caratini hit a game-winning RBI in the 12th inning.

Hunter Brown will get the start for Houston in the series finalé before the team heads home this weekend. The right-hander is 1-1 tihs season with a 3.00 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. He won 5-2 against the Minnesota Twins on the road in his last start after pitching 6.0 innings. He allowed two earned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts in the start.

On the other side, Luis Castillo will get the start for Seattle at home in this three-game finalé. This season, the right-hander is 0-0 with a 9.00 ERA and a 2.67 WHIP. He started just one game before this one this season, with a 10-9 loss in extra innings against the San Francisco Giants. Castillo threw three innings, allowing three earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
