The Houston Astros have the opportunity to win this series on Saturday when they face off in Game 2 against the Minnesota Twins.

The Minnesota Twins look to get back even against the Houston Astros in their home opening series on Saturday. The home opener didn’t go as planned for the Twins when the Astros quieted Minnesota’s bats winning 5-2 on Thursday. These two had Friday off. Minnesota missed out winning three games in a row after starting the season 0-4 and getting swept in the first series of the season against the St. Louis Cardinals. The win was a nice reprieve for the Astros as it ended a three-game losing streak after getting swept by the San Francisco Giants. Houston will try to get back to .500 with a win here this afternoon. The Twins are the slight -125 favorite to win Game 2.

New pickup second baseman Brendan Rodgers was a big factor in the win on Thursday collecting three hits and he drove in three runs. Things were looking good for Minnesota to start the game scoring the first two runs in the first inning. Carlos Correa drove in the first run against his former team. Christian Walker and Jeremy Pena both hit back-to-back homers for the Astros to get those runs right back from the Twins. Minnesota was shut down the rest of the way after the first inning. Hunter Brown settled down for the Astros getting the win going six innings while striking out eight.

Spencer Arrighetti will be tasked with the start to get the series win for the Astros today. The righty had a great start in his season opener against the New York Mets going six innings giving up only one hit and one run to earn the win. The Twins will counter with Bailey Ober who had the opposite outing in his season debut. Ober went just 2.2 innings against the Cardinals giving up eight hits and eight runs including two homers in a 9-2 loss. The righty will be looking for redemption at home this afternoon.
