The Athletics look to win a second straight game on Wednesday night when they visit the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Athletics take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night in the second game of a three-game series. The Athletics came to Los Angeles on Tuesday and picked up a surprising 11-1 win over the Dodgers. They never trailed in the game, but put the game away with five runs over the last three innings. The A’s hit five home runs, including two from rookie Jacob Wilson. Wilson went 4-for-5 with four RBIs to lead the way. Wednesday night the A’s will send Gunnar Hoglund to the mound as they try to clinch the series win. Hoglund will be making his third start of his career on Wednesday. He has given up just three runs in 11.1 innings in his first two starts. The A’s are hoping he can be just as good on Wednesday, as they look to keep pace with the first place Seattle Mariners in the American League West. The A’s currently sit at 22-20 on the season and are 1.5 games back of the Mariners.

The Dodgers will be starting Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound in the middle game of the series on Wednesday.
Yamamoto has been great this season, as he currently has a 1.80 ERA over eight starts. Despite the sparkling ERA he is just 4-3 on the season.
The Dodgers haven’t given him a lot of run support this season, as they have scored three or fewer runs in all but one of the starts.
His last start was his worst of the year, as he gave up five runs on six hits in five innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
