The Athletics head to San Francisco on Friday night to take on the Giants in the first game of a three-game series
The Athletics continue their six-game road trip on Friday night when they visit the San Francisco Giants. The Athletics come into Friday on a two-game losing streak and fresh off their worst loss of the season. The A’s surprised the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday, beating them 11-1, but then lost the last two games of the series. On Wednesday, they lost 9-3 and then on Thursday night, they were blown out 19-2. They had lost earlier in the season 18-3 to the Chicago Cubs, but the loss on Thursday was their worst of the season. Friday, they will send JP Sears to the mound as they try and avoid a third straight loss. Sears has pitched well for the A’s this season and he comes into Friday 4-2 with a 2.80 ERA. The A’s have been great with him on the mound as they have won his last five starts, including his last one against the New York Yankees on Saturday.

The Giants will counter with Logan Webb as they look to knock off the A’s in the series opener on Friday night.
Webb has been good this year and he comes into Friday night 4-3 with a 2.60 ERA on the season.
In his last start, he went seven innings and gave up just two runs on five hits, but he still took a loss as the Giants fell to the Minnesota Twins 2-1.
The Giants come into Friday in a slump as they have lost five of their last six games, which has dropped them to 25-19 on the season. They now sit in third place in the NL West, four games back of the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers.
