How to Watch Athletics at Rangers (April 29): Stream MLB Live, TV Channel

The A’s look to take a commanding 4-1 lead against the Texas Rangers in the past week.

The Athletics and Texas Rangers have the same 15-14 record as they head into Game 2 of the second series of the season between these AL West rivals. The Rangers are trying to mix the energy up to avoid losing four games in a row tonight as they’ve already lost four of their last five. The A’s have won four of their last five and are going for their fourth win in a row. The Athletics will go for the series win after a close 2-1 victory in the opener. The good news for the Rangers is that they will be the -205 favorite to tie this series tonight. But the A’s are already up 3-1 through four games after winning the last series against the Rangers in Sacramento last week.

All it took for the A’s to win in the opener on offense was a two-RBI double in the fifth inning by Tyler Soderstrom. The Rangers came back with a run of their own in the sixth inning on an RBI single from Jonah Heim. Both pitchers were great with JP Sears getting the win going 5.2 innings giving up a run on five hits while striking out seven. Patrick Corbin got the loss but really his only mistake was that two-run double from Soderstrom. Corbin went 4.2 innings while giving up two runs on seven hits.

Both teams are hoping for repeat performances from their pitchers in this rematch on Tuesday. Texas will be putting up one of its heavy hitters in Jacob DeGrom. He is still looking for his first win of the season with a 0-1 record and a 3.33 ERA. DeGrom’s only loss of the season came when he went seven innings only giving up one run against the defending champ Los Angeles Dodgers. Jacob Lopez will go for the A’s and he will be getting his first start of the season. Lopez does not have a record or an ERA while pitching 4.1 scoreless innings across three games in relief.
