Royals catcher Salvador Perez ranks ninth in MLB with his team leading .341 batting average due in part to his seven multi-hit games in the season’s first month. Perez, in his 14th season with the Royals, has hit over .300 three times in his career, but has never got on base in five career at bats against Kevin Gausman.

Adam Frazier however has had success off Gausman, hitting .390 with three doubles in 41 lifetime at bats against the Blue Jays starter. Frazier started his Major League career with the Pirates before spending one season each with the Padres, Mariners and Orioles, before signing a one-year deal with the Royals in January.

After seeing his batting average balloon to .345 earlier in the month, Blue Jays third baseman Justin Turner is on a three-game hitless streak, but is hitting .429 lifetime off Wacha.

Toronto has won 15 of the last 18 games against Kansas City, including four in a row at Kauffman Stadium, dating back to April 2023.
