Having alternated wins and losses in each of their first six games to start the season, the Orioles come into this game off their first shutout of the year as they start veteran right-hander Charlie Morton (0-1, 10.80 ERA) who was roughed up in his debut last week against Toronto where he allowed four earned runs on seven hits over 3.1 innings of work.

Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins has raced out to a team-leading 10 RBIs through his first six games after posting a pair of home runs in the season opener in Toronto. Mullins, a career .253 hitter in his eighth big league season, will play in his 700th career game on Thursday and is on pace for his fifth consecutive 50-RBI season. Mullins had a breakout season in 2021 earning his only All-Star appearance becoming the first Baltimore player to hit 30 home runs and steal 30 bases in a season.

Rafael Devers has struggled to find an offensive groove to start the season hitting .087with 15 strikeouts in his first 23 at bats. Devers, a career .278 hitter, has eclipsed 100 RBIs three times in the last six seasons and has posted four consecutive seasons with 25 or more home runs and 30 or more doubles but has just one extra base hit through six games so far this year.

Since the start of the 2024 season, Baltimore leads the series 5-4 over the last nine meetings at home.
