Game 2 on Saturday was very back and forth all night but it was a tough loss to swallow for the D’Backs because they held a 6-2 lead going into the seventh inning. That’s when the Braves’ offense came alive, scoring five runs across the seventh and eighth innings to take a one-run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth. Eugenio Suarez continued his phenomenal night by hitting his fourth homer of the night to tie the game at seven runs apiece. Suarez became just the 19th player in MLB history to hit four homers in one game. However, Arizona was still not able to capitalize on Suarez’s heroics, as Matt Olson scored on a wild pitch from Justin Martinez and the Diamondbacks weren’t able to respond in the bottom of the 10th.

The Braves will go for the sweep by starting Spencer Schwellenbach, who is 1-1 with a 2.56 ERA. The righty got a no decision in his last start despite having a great outing going seven innings, just giving up three runs in a game the Braves ultimately won against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Diamondbacks have a great counter to avoid this sweep in Brandon Pfaadt, who is off to a great start with a 4-1 record with a 2.73 ERA. He got his fourth straight win in his last start, only giving up a run on four hits in six innings against the Tampa Bay Rays.
