The Atlanta Braves are slowly but surely starting to turn it around after a slow start to the season as they start a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday. The Braves have won four of their last five games while the Diamondbacks are trying to avoid losing three games in a row. Arizona is still in good shape only three games back in the stacked NL West. Monitor Arizona’s freshness tonight as they are coming off back-to-back losses in extra innings. The Braves are the -125 favorites even on the road tonight. Arizona is coming off a 7-4 loss in 10 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday after it lost in 11 innings on Wednesday. In the series finale, Christopher Morel hit a two-run homer in the 10th to complete the rally. The Diamondbacks scored three runs in the first two innings but had a tough time scoring late in the game. Diamondbacks starter Corbin Burnes was perfect through four innings and overall had a good night despite the no decision going 5.1 innings giving up only one earned run and striking out eight. Arizona will start another one of their stars in Zac Gallen tonight who is 1-3 with a 5.60 ERA.

After a 10-4 rout on Tuesday, Atlanta bounced back on Wednesday nicely in the series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Braves won the series after a 4-1 win on Wednesday. Bryce Elder pitched great going six innings while only giving up one run. But Atlanta didn’t get on the board until the seventh inning with an RBI single from Michael Harris II who was 3-for-4. But it was a three-run shot in the eighth by Eli White that ended a tie and broke open the ballgame. Their ace will start this series against Arizona in Chris Sale who is 0-2 with a 6.17 ERA.
