The Braves go for their fourth straight win on Friday when they visit the Marlins in Miami
The Atlanta Braves take on the division rival Miami Marlins on Friday night in the first game of a three-game series. The Braves come to Miami fresh off a big three-game sweep of the New York Mets and they have now won six of their last seven games. The streak has pushed their record to 34-39 on the season and has them 10 games back of both the Mets and Philadelphia Phillies, who are tied for first place. Friday, the Braves will send Didier Fuentes to the mound. Fuentes will be making his MLB debut just three days after he turned 20. Fuentes, who ranks as the Braves’ No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be MLB’s youngest starting pitcher since the Dodgers’ Julio UrÃas started against the Phillies at 19 years and 362 days on Aug. 8, 2016. He’ll become Atlanta’s youngest starter since Mike McQueen was 19 years and 297 days when he started against the Dodgers on June 23, 1970. He’ll also become Atlanta’s youngest pitcher since McQueen made a relief appearance at 20 years and 2 days on Sept. 1, 1970, according to MLB.com.
