The two teams will be meeting for the second of their four-game series to be played this week in New York. In Game 1 on Monday, the Braves were able to come away with a narrow 3-2 victory away from home. Ronald Acuña Jr., Matt Olson and Ozzie Albies all crossed home plate to help secure the win at Citi Field in the series opener. Spencer Schwellenbach started the series on the mound for the Mets. The pitcher went for seven innings and gave up both of New York’s runs to go along with his four strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto scored runs for the Mets in the Game 1 defeat at home, following a two-run shot from Soto in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Paul Blackburn got the start for New York in the first game of the series. The pitcher lasted 4.2 innings and gave up all three of Atlanta’s runs to go along with six hits and five strikeouts.

The Braves and the Mets faced off in Atlanta last week at Truist Park, where the team from Georgia swept the team from New York. Atlanta won Game 1 5-4 last Tuesday, Game 2 5-0 and Game 3 7-1 against the Mets.
