The Atlanta Braves will take on the Philadelphia Phillies in an MLB spring training matchup at BayCar Ballpark in Clearwater, Florida, on Thursday afternoon. The Phillies have been floating around the .500 mark all preseason, showing some flashes of brilliance and other games leaving question marks. They picked up a 4-1 win on Monday against the Minnesota Twins. Seth Johnson secured his first win of the season as the ex-Baltimore Oriole pitched two innings allowing one hit with no earned runs and zero strikeouts.

Right fielder Cal Stevenson got the bats going with an RBI in the second inning, followed by a two-RBI single in the second from Rafael Lantigua. All of Philadelphia’s runs were scored in the second after Bryson Stott added another in the second. Alec Bohm leads the team with three home runs and three RBIs, while Gabriel Rincones leads Philadelphia with seven RBIs and three home runs.

The Atlanta Braves have also been flirting with the .500 mark after two losses over Sunday and Monday. They did beat the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday, 6-5, with the win going to the ending pitcher, Dany Jimenez, after the team scored four runs to walk-off in the bottom of the ninth inning. Jimenez saw one batter and striked him out.

The offense in that win was led by Matt Ozuna, who finished with two RBIs on 1-for-2 day, getting that hit in the first inning. Pittsburgh scored the next five runs straight, leading 5-2 heading into the bottom of the ninth. Stephen Paolini, Lizandro Espinoza, Matthew Batten, and Ambioris Tavarez scored the four runs in the inning to win the game.
