In the series prior to the one in Houston, Milwaukee came away with two out of three wins over the Pittsburgh Pirates to start the week. In game one on Monday, Milwaukee fell 8-6 at American Family Field. Colin Rea started on the mound for the Brewers, going for six innings where he allowed six hits and three runs to go along with five strikeouts. Meanwhile, Jake Bauers had four RBIs while Willy Adames had Milwaukee’s other two in the loss at home to open the series.

Then, the Brewers were able to bounce back with a 4-3 win in game two on Tuesday at American Family Field. Joe Ross went for five innings on the mound for the team, while striking out six batters and allowing two hits and two runs.
Milwaukee’s offense came from Sal Frelick who had two RBIs to go along with an RBI apiece from Brice Turang and Christian Yelich.
Finally, the Brewers were able to close out the series against Pittsburgh with a 10-2 win over the Pirates. William Contreras, Joey Ortiz, Gary Sánchez, Jackson Chourio and Frelick all hit home runs in the big win at home.
