With another win Tuesday, St. Louis would win back-to-back games for just the third time this season. Early in this season St. Louis has not been able to build momentum, but has the opportunity in this Interleague series with Oakland. In the first game between the teams St. Louis won 3-1 in a competitive game where they were able to control the game from the opening pitch for nine straight innings. They look to build on that momentum in the second game of this series today.

St. Louis blanked Oakland for the first seven innings before allowing the only run of the game. That run came on the first run of the season from Esteury Ruiz, crushing the ball to left-center field to get Oakland on the board with its first and only run of the game.
For St. Louis, it was able to build its lead with a Nolan Arenado single in the first inning, a Wilson Contreras double and a Jordan Walker single to pepper in just enough offense to win the game.
On the mound today for St. Louis is veteran right-hander Lance Lynn (0-0) looking for his first win of the season. In his first three starts Lynn has pitched a total of 13.2 innings with 18 strikeouts and allowing just four total earned runs. Lynn held opponents scoreless in two of his three starts, but the offense was not able to score enough to allow the veteran to finish with a win.
