The Cardinals lost by only one run in each of their first two games against the Blue Jays but lost the last game 5-2 to close out their only series against Toronto this season on Wednesday. The game started off well for St. Louis scoring the first two runs of the game in the first two innings but the Cardinals were shutout the rest of the way. The Cardinals offense was highlighted by a Yohel Pozo solo shot in the second inning. St. Louis scored nine runs in a losing effort the night before. The Cardinals have just the guy on the mound to bounce back in Sonny Gray who is 7-1 with a 3.35 ERA.

The Brewers are coming off a series loss to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday with a 6-2 loss in the rubber match. Unfortunately for Milwaukee, Braves starter Spencer Schwellenbach was just too much in control for the Brewers to make any noise. Schwellenbach pitched his first complete game of his career scattering a run in the second and eighth innings. Rhys Hoskins did connect on a homer in the second to highlight Milwaukee’s offense. Jacob Misiorowski will be making his major league debut in the start tonight.
