Starlyn Caba and the Miami Marlins will take on Michael McGreevy and the St. Louis Cardinals in an MLB Spring Breakout game on Friday.

The St. Louis Cardinals will take on the Miami Marlins in a Spring Breakout MiLB Prospect Showcase game on Friday afternoon at the Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. The MLB Spring Breakout is a four-day event showcasing baseball’s future: the current stars of Minor League Baseball. Each roster was constructed using MLB Pipeline’s Top 30 Prospects lists as its foundation. That means that players with rookie eligibility entering the 2025 season — most of whom came directly from those Top 30s — are eligible for their club’s Spring Breakout roster.

Major League rookie eligibility is defined as any player who has not yet exceeded 130 at-bats, 50 innings pitched or 45 total regular-season days on an active roster at the game’s top level. Spring Breakout games are now nine innings instead of seven innings, and similar to the MLB games, they will be utilizing the ABS (automatic ball strike challenge system) for their games.

The Cardinals’ prospect list includes some massive names that will most likely be called up in 2025, including Quinn Mathews, Tink Hence, Jimmy Crooks, Thomas Saggese, and Cooper Hjerpe. The top of the 2026 projected call-ups will also be on display in this game, JJ Wetherhold. The No. 11 overall prospect Michael McGreevy will play as well.

The Marlins boast three players in the MLB Top 100 prospects that will be showcased, including No. 41 Thomas White, No. 80 Starlyn Caba, and No. 84 Noble Meyer. 19 of the team’s roster was not in the organization last year, with 13 of the 19 arriving on deals made by club over the last year.
