After a no-doubter walkoff home run by Francisco Lindor, the New York Mets look to win this series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday.

The New York Mets look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in this four-game set hosting the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday. There aren’t many teams slowing down the Mets in Queens with New York holding a 7-1 record at home. The Mets go for their third win in a row in primetime on Saturday after losing back-to-back games for the first time this season in a series loss against the Minnesota Twins earlier in the week. St. Louis is trying to avoid losing three in a row and four of their last five games tonight. The Cardinals are just 1-7 on the road to start the season. Subsequently, the Mets hold the advantage with a -175 line at home going into Game 3.

Game 2 on Friday was very close with New York edging out St. Louis winning 5-4. It all came down to theatrics and heroics from one of the best in the game in Francisco Lindor. The Mets star hit a walkoff homer against Ryan Hernandez. Just saying it was a walkoff doesn’t do it justice as it was a tape-measure moon shot going 401 feet into the upper deck at Citi Field. It was Lindor’s first walkoff home run in a Mets uniform. He had done it for his previous team in Cleveland twice. St. Louis extended the game getting a game-tying homer from Brendan Donovan in this very back-and-forth game but it was not enough.

The Cardinals will try to get their first win of the series by starting Matthew Liberatore. The lefty has a 1-1 record with a 3.93 ERA after going six shutout innings while only giving up three hits in his last start against the Philadelphia Phillies earning his first win of the season. The Cardinals can’t catch much of a break though tonight as the Mets will counter with Kodai Senga who is 2-1 with a eye-watering 1.06 ERA. The righty went seven shutout innings only giving up four hits in his last start against the Athletics.
